Love & Logic RULES!

So I finally got the Love & Logic book 2 weekends ago and we've officially been implementing since the 19th. I have to say that while it's a lot of work in terms of offering more choices (99% when things are going smoothly), matching the consequences with the behavior and allowing the kids to share in the thinking ("how are YOU going to fix this?"), both Hopi and I have felt so much more equipped and emotionally relaxed at the end of the day. We still have our battles with Will, but overall I can tell that even he's more relaxed, which makes sense. If we're angry and frustrated all of the time, how could expect him to not be that way? I'm encouraged at how things have been going and I'm excited to see things improve even more.

Speaking of improvements, Malia decided she wanted to try big girl underpants this morning for the first time. I'm more than hesitant knowing that I'll be the one who has to clean up any accidents, but I figured it was a good time to try. Will was in preschool and Rory was napping so we tried it. She was accident free for about 1 1/2 hours!! We'll see what happens after naps.

Oh and we got some new tires put on the van this morning, which should be a big improvement. I guess the van was too heavy for the ones we had on there. Thanks Hopi for taking care of that. You are my hero!!

I have to give a birthday shout out to my friend Cathi. Happy Birthday Cathi!!
